One theme I absolutely love incorporating into my end of the year activities is camp day!
Camp day can be extremely fun and exciting for students. The best part is that camp day is a fun themed day that can still focus on academic concepts.
Here are a few ideas for a day FULL of fun, educational activities:
Reading/ELA:
I love finding books that follow a spirit day theme! One fun thing to do on camp day is to read a fictional story to students around the camp theme.
Have students identify story elements such as main character, lesson, main idea, etc. to truly turn this activity into a lesson.
Writing:
Have students write a fun campfire story or have them write an opinion piece about whether they would want to go camping or not one day.
Math:
I absolutely LOVE having my student do color by code or color by number activities on themed days. Not only do students walk away with a fun picture to color, they also get to practice their math skills such as addition and subtraction.
I have a few camp themed color by codes in my camp activity bundle.
Bonus/Extra Fun Activities:
There are plenty of other bonus or extra fun activities that can be done with students for camp day.
Have students play camping BINGO. This is a great opportunity for them to learn camp themed vocabulary and to have fun playing an easy game.
Have students write about the process of making s'mores and have them use their instructions to make s'mores (or fireless s'mores if inside the classroom).
If these ideas sound fun for you and your students, you will LOVE my camp themed activity bundle!
